Oman passport validity for visa applicants
The Oman eVisa FAQ states that a normal passport should be at least six months valid prior to entering Oman. Muscat Airport guidance also tells international visitors to hold a passport valid for more than six months.
Passport validity is only one part of the entry check. The document must match the visa application, remain usable for the planned itinerary and have enough blank pages for travel processing and stamps where applicable.
If the passport will expire soon, renew or confirm the current rule before applying. A visa cannot correct a passport mismatch or remove airline and border checks.
Passport checklist
- Expiry date after planned entry
- Passport number and spelling
- Blank pages where required
- Clear bio-page scan
- Same passport for travel
- Residence card if relevant
Current-rules reminder: Visa categories, required information, fees, processing guidance and entry conditions can change. Check the live travel service and your airline or border instructions before departure.
Passport cautions
- Do not rely on six months from the application date alone.
- Do not travel with a different passport without checking transfer rules.
- Do not submit a cropped or unreadable scan.
- Check airline conditions separately.
