The current India visa guidance portal requires a recent front-facing photograph and a scanned passport bio page showing personal details. Additional evidence is requested according to the e-Visa type.
Clear, complete, correctly formatted uploads reduce avoidable re-upload requests. The portal states that applicants may be advised by email to re-upload documents or images that are not appropriate.
File-quality rules
- Photo: JPEG; minimum 10 KB and maximum 1 MB; equal height and width
- Passport bio page: PDF; minimum 10 KB and maximum 300 KB
- Other business/medical document: PDF; minimum 10 KB and maximum 300 KB
- Documents and letters should be clear and in English where the current instructions require it

Submission checks
- Use the passport on which the e-Visa was applied. If travelling with a new passport under the current exception, carry the old passport too.
- Each traveller needs a separate passport; an applicant endorsed on another person’s passport is not eligible for e-Visa.
- Fees are country/territory-specific and non-refundable after submission according to the current portal.
