Country-specific guide

Common India e-Visa document requirements

The current India visa guidance portal requires a recent front-facing photograph and a scanned passport bio page showing personal details. Additional evidence is requested according to the e-Visa type.

Clear, complete, correctly formatted uploads reduce avoidable re-upload requests. The portal states that applicants may be advised by email to re-upload documents or images that are not appropriate.

Submission checks

  • Use the passport on which the e-Visa was applied. If travelling with a new passport under the current exception, carry the old passport too.
  • Each traveller needs a separate passport; an applicant endorsed on another person’s passport is not eligible for e-Visa.
  • Fees are country/territory-specific and non-refundable after submission according to the current portal.
