The Saudi eVisa is a document-light application: most of what decides success is already in your passport and your accuracy when typing it in. The published visa terms state that an applicant needs a valid passport from a permitted country, and that the application will not succeed unless the passport has at least six months of validity remaining from the date of entry to Saudi Arabia.
Beyond the passport, the terms expect true and accurate information, arrival on the same passport used to apply, a carried copy of the issued eVisa, a working email address for delivery and contact, and the means to support yourself and any dependents during the visit. Why consistency matters more than quantity of documents
The single most common avoidable error is inconsistency between the application and the passport: a transposed digit in the passport number, a name spelled differently from the machine-readable zone, or a birthdate entered day-month swapped. Because the eVisa is checked against your passport at the border, those mismatches surface at the worst possible moment — at the immigration desk instead of at the application stage.
The second trap is applying with a passport you do not intend to travel on — for example after a renewal. The terms require arrival on the same passport used to apply. If your passport is close to expiry, renew it first and apply with the new document, because the six-month validity rule is measured from your entry date.
Finally, do not treat the email copy as disposable. The terms say you must be able to present a copy of the eVisa on first arrival, and border systems occasionally fail to display an issued visa. A saved PDF and a printed copy cost nothing and remove that risk entirely.
