The "Transit eVisa" Myth

A highly searched topic is the "Azerbaijan Transit Visa." It is important to know that the ASAN system does not offer a specific transit category at a reduced price.

If your flight has a layover at Heydar Aliyev International Airport and you intend to stay strictly inside the sterile airside transit zone, you do not need a visa of any kind. However, if you have a long layover and want to exit the airport to explore Baku, you must apply for a standard Tourist eVisa and pay the full standard processing fee. There is no discounted short-stay pass.
