The "15-Day Rule" Explained
Azerbaijan enforces strict domestic migration oversight. While your approved tourist eVisa allows a total stay of up to 30 days, foreigners remaining in the country longer than 15 consecutive days must register their accommodation address with the State Migration Service.

Who is Responsible for Registration?
Under local law, the host or property owner submits the registration, but the traveler faces the departure fine if it is missed:
Licensed Hotels and Hostels
Hotels handle guest registration through an online migration portal, usually within 24 hours of check-in. Always ask the reception team for your printed registration confirmation slip before departing.
Private Apartments & Rental Hosts
When staying in private rentals or Airbnbs, confirm that your host submits your passport details on migration.gov.az. Do not assume it is completed automatically.
How the Online Registration Works
Hosts can register guests through the State Migration Service website (migration.gov.az) or the official mobile application. The submission requires a scan of your passport biodata page, your arrival date, and the host's property information. Official registration is free of charge.
