How do I apply for an Egypt eVisa online?
Egypt's eVisa is applied for online through the Egyptian government's official e-Visa portal. You create an account, complete the visitor application, upload a scan of your passport's photo page, pay the fee and wait for the decision. Applicants are asked to apply at least 7 days before departure, and the approved eVisa should be printed and carried with your passport.
Only use the official Egyptian government portal for the application and payment. Check that you are on the official site before entering passport or card details.
What to prepare before you start
- A passport valid for at least six months from your arrival date, with at least one blank page.
- A clear scan or photo of the passport bio-data page.
- An email address you can access for the account and notifications.
- Your intended arrival date, port of entry and address of stay in Egypt.
- An international bank card to pay the fee online.
- Confirmation that your nationality is eligible for the eVisa. If it is not, you will need a visa from an Egyptian embassy or consulate.

Check every detail, then pay the fee online: US$30 for single entry or US$65 for multiple entry. Save the receipt and application reference.

Monitor your email and account. Processing time varies, so allow more than the 7-day minimum if your dates are fixed.

Print and carry the eVisa
Print the approved eVisa and keep a digital copy. Carry it with your passport, itinerary and accommodation details.
What happens at the border
An approved eVisa does not guarantee entry. Immigration officers decide admission at the port of entry. Present your passport and the printed eVisa, and be ready to show your itinerary, accommodation details and onward or return ticket if asked.
Your stay is limited to the period shown on the eVisa, up to 30 days for a standard tourist eVisa. Enter within the validity window printed on the document.
