Understanding the 6-month validity and 30-day rule
A common misconception is that a 6-month multiple-entry visa lets you live in Egypt continuously for six months. Under Egyptian immigration rules, validity and duration of stay are separate limits:
- 6-month validity window: The 180-day clock starts on the date the eVisa is approved and issued. All entries into Egypt must take place before the expiry date printed on the eVisa.
- 30-day stay limit per entry: Each time you enter Egypt, you are permitted to stay for up to 30 days. Staying beyond 30 consecutive days without a formal extension from the Egyptian Passport and Immigration Administration incurs overstay fines.
- Strict tourist boundary: Like the single-entry eVisa, the multiple-entry option is strictly for tourism and visitor purposes-never for employment, residency, or study.
