What documents are needed for an Egypt eVisa?
The online application asks for personal and travel details and a scan of your passport. Most of the paperwork is needed at the border, not at the application stage.

Passport details
The name and passport number must match the passport you travel with.
Entry type and validity
Check whether the eVisa is single or multiple entry and the dates it is valid for.
Print and carry
Carry a printed copy with your passport and keep a digital backup.
Passport requirements in detail
- Valid for at least six months from the date you arrive in Egypt.
- At least one blank page for the entry stamp.
- In good condition. Damaged passports or passports with hand-altered details can be refused.
- The same passport you used for the application is the one you must travel with.
Nationality-specific requirements
The eVisa is available only to the nationalities listed on the official portal. Travellers from other nationalities, or travellers who need a different visa category, must apply through an Egyptian embassy or consulate. Their document lists differ by mission, so confirm them with the mission that will handle your application.
Each traveller, including children, needs a passport and an application of their own.
Documents to carry at the border
- Your passport.
- The printed approved eVisa, with a digital copy as backup.
- Your itinerary and hotel booking or details of where you will stay in Egypt.
- An onward or return ticket, in case you are asked for it.
- Travel insurance is recommended, although it is not an eVisa requirement.

What if my nationality is not eligible for the eVisa?
Apply for a visa through an Egyptian embassy or consulate. Check that mission's current requirements before you apply.
