Passport type and dual-nationality rules
Your physical travel document must satisfy specific technical criteria to be eligible for an Egypt eVisa:
- Ordinary passports only: The electronic portal is designed for holders of ordinary (regular) national passports. Holders of diplomatic, official, service, or special passports, as well as emergency travel documents or refugee travel documents, must check consular rules before travelling.
- Dual nationals must match passports: If you hold dual citizenship, you must enter your nationality and passport details from the exact passport you will carry to Egypt. Presenting a different passport at the border renders the eVisa invalid.
- Minors and families: Children and infants cannot be endorsed on a parent's eVisa. Each child requires their own valid passport and individual eVisa application.

Even if your nationality is eligible on the portal, your trip is only eligible if your activities fall within permitted tourist visitor boundaries:

Submission eligibility vs. border entry
Being eligible to submit an online form does not guarantee that the eVisa will be issued, nor does holding an approved eVisa guarantee automatic admission at the port of entry. Border officers check that your passport remains valid for at least 6 months, that you carry a printed copy of the visa, and that you can demonstrate genuine tourist plans (hotel bookings, return tickets, and sufficient funds).
