Quick summary

Applying for a Vietnam eVisa takes seven steps: check whether you need a visa, gather your details, choose entry type and gate, complete the form, review it, pay, and wait for the decision. The Vietnamese authorities decide and set the processing time. Vistoroute helps with the process but does not approve visas.
About Vistoroute. Vistoroute is an independent, privately operated visa assistance service. Before you start

Two checks save most applicants time. First, confirm you actually need a visa: citizens of some countries can enter for a limited stay without one. Second, make sure you can meet the eligibility conditions in our Vietnam eVisa requirements guide, because the government fee is not refunded if a visa is refused.

You will be outside Vietnam when you apply and hold a valid passport.
You know your travel dates and the entry gate you will use.
You have a clear image of your passport data page and a portrait photo that meets the requirements.

  5. Review every field

Check names, dates, passport number, entry gate and images before you submit. Use the checklist below.

  6. Pay the fees

The government fee is paid with your application. Vistoroute’s service fee is separate. See the section on payment below.

  7. Wait for the decision and prepare to travel

The Vietnamese authorities review the application and decide. Check your inbox and spam folder for the result. An approved eVisa is issued as a PDF: check the name, dates and entry gate on it and keep a printed copy with you. The Vietnam Immigration Department recommends completing the pre-arrival form before you enter Vietnam.
