Thailand entry requirements: a border checklist
A visa or visa-exempt route is only one part of a border crossing. Prepare the documents that establish identity, entry basis, travel purpose, and the ability to comply with the conditions of admission.

Border requirements can vary by passport, purpose, arrival point, and current policy. Use this as a preparation framework.

What a border officer may still assess
Admission is decided at the border. Officers can assess whether the traveller is using the correct passport and entry basis, whether the stated purpose is consistent with the documents, and whether the traveller appears able to comply with the conditions of entry. A visa is not an absolute guarantee of admission.
Do not present a tourist route for an activity that requires another permission. The TDAC portal itself reminds foreign nationals that they are not allowed to work unless granted a work permit.
